Electronics prototypes from just 1 unit

Your options may be a manufacturer in Asia or a large EMS provider with a 500-unit minimum. Techbit offers another route: assembly from just 1 unit, Polish ownership, one dedicated project manager and the same process through to production.

Technically, we can handle assembly starting from a single unit, but the production run usually becomes cost-effective at around 20 units.

/ who we serve

Founder, R&D startup or corporate R&D team: find your path here.

The same team, production line and dedicated project manager take your project from the first unit through to production.

/ For founders

You are developing your own product and need a prototype for validation.

You have a finished design and a deadline to meet for an investor or client. We assemble in Poland and, on request, sign an NDA before you share your documentation. After validation, we can handle further revisions and prepare your project for production.

/ For R&D companies

You are iterating through revisions and need 5–20 units, not 100+.

You are working through rev A → B → C and want to see your board assembled before ordering a larger batch. We assemble small runs and explain what could cause problems on the production line, with the same dedicated project manager throughout.

/ For R&D departments

You need test batches for your in-house R&D team.

Test batches and short runs are part of our daily work. You get the flexibility of a small company and processes you can include in your supplier assessment, without minimum orders in the hundreds. Instead of setting up your own test line, you can outsource the batch to us and keep changeovers from disrupting your main production.

/ what we offer

From assembly review to box building: one partner for the whole process.

An assembly review comes first. We assemble your completed PCB design, taking it from a full set of files to a finished device.

PCB manufacturability consultation

The most common frustration is a manufacturer that provides quotes and assembles products without a word about manufacturability. With us, you receive a design-for-assembly review at the file stage, based on real-world assembly line experience, before you spend money on components and production runs.

Box building

A complete device, not just a board, if the prototype is intended for immediate testing.

Inquiry

Send your BOM, Gerber files and specifications.
/02

Quote in 2 business days

We review the complete set of files and component availability. The quotation timeframe starts once we confirm that your documentation is complete.
/03

Assembly review

If anything on your board needs attention, we tell you before assembly begins.
/04

Component procurement

You can supply the components yourself, or we can order them for you from one of our 18+ suppliers. Global procurement has a separate lead time, usually 4–7 weeks. We explain upfront what affects the schedule.
/05

Assembly and quality control

SMT and THT assembly on the same board takes 2 weeks when components are in stock or supplied by you; we use 4 weeks as the standard lead time in our quotations. Every board undergoes off-line AOI inspection on a separate machine, with X-ray inspection for QFN and BGA packages.

Delivery

You receive your finished prototypes. For the next revision, you return to the same dedicated project manager.

We work with TECHBIT on electronics manufacturing projects. We value their collaborative approach, the team's commitment and their openness to discussing project needs and assumptions. Our experience of working together has been positive, and we are happy to recommend TECHBIT as a PCBA manufacturing partner.

Questions about prototypes

See frequently asked questions and answers

What is the realistic minimum order quantity?

Technically, we can assemble as few as 1 unit. Cost-effective production runs typically start at around 20 units. We will recommend the best model during the quoting process.

How long does the entire process take, from inquiry to receiving the prototype?

We prepare your quote within 2 business days after confirming that your documentation is complete. Assembly takes 2 weeks when components are in stock or supplied by you; we use 4 weeks as the standard lead time in our quotations. If we procure components for you from the global market, this usually adds 4–7 weeks. We explain upfront what affects the schedule.

What if there is an error in my design that I haven't noticed?

Before assembly begins, you receive an assembly review. We explain what could cause problems on the production line before your boards are assembled.

Can I iterate through subsequent revisions (rev A → B → C) with the same team?

Yes. We work with you through successive revisions, with the same dedicated project manager each time. You do not have to explain your project's history again.

Do you protect IP and sign NDAs?

On request, we sign an NDA before you share the first file. Polish ownership and a single jurisdiction help protect your project documentation.

What happens once the prototype is validated and I want to order a production run?

You stay with the same partner: the same process, dedicated project manager and production line, from the first unit to regular batches.

When you choose Techbit for your prototype, you do not need to find a new supplier as your project grows. The same process, dedicated project manager and production line take you from the first unit to regular batches.
